The FET-72 is Locomotive's entry into the DIY Recording Equipment (DIYRE) Colour format.

The FET-72 puts a fun spin on the classic V72-style tube amplifier circuit by using JFETs instead of vacuum tubes. This module will give you access to the familiar German module sound while offering plenty of options and flexibility.

When set to “Classic” mode (switches set to NFB and Pentode), the FET-72 sounds most like its vintage inspiration, boasting a big, thick low end and smooth top without sounding dark. By removing negative feedback (switch set to NO NFB), the frequency response will be rounded off, making the low end less pronounced. Set to Triode mode, the high-frequency response will drop subtly, and there will be a smoother transition from clean to distorted when using your Colour Palette’s Drive control. Pentode mode is much more aggressive in nature.

The 4-position “HI CUT” (low pass filter) gives you flexibility when driving the module for a harmonic/thickening effect. Using one of the low pass filters will make the naturally brightened result of added harmonic distortion less pronounced, allowing the user to truly shape their sound to taste.
